NamasteDear Members,
We are indeed privileged to welcome you all to the 13th Annual General Meeting of your company through the digital virtual platform of Zoom that has become the “New Normal” for connectivity.This digital AGM is probably the first in the Indian tea industry!
We take this opportunity to offer our sincere condolences to the families of all those who have lost their near and dear ones to COVID-19, and good wishes for those recovering from its impact. We also offer our sympathies to our humble workers, across various parts of India, who have had to face innumerable inhuman challenges and hardships while returning home during the lockdown! This, coupled with the super-cyclones Amphan and Nisarga, highlight the challenges that we face as planet Earth goes through a very trying time.
“The Earth will not continue to offer its harvest. We cannot say we love the land and then take steps to destroy it for use by future generations”, John Paul II. In the words of The Dalai Lama, “Human use, population, and technology have reached that certain stage where mother Earth no longer accepts our presence with silence!” We are, quite literally, gambling with the future of our planet.
