Mz name is Astrid Bakir and I am a German native speaker residing in Cairo, Egypt for the last 14 years. 

I have always had a passion for languages which I put into practice when I obtained an MA (hons) degree in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of St Andrews, Scotland, UK. 

Shortly after I moved to Egypt and was able to optimise my knowledge of the Arabic language. 

I then decided to follow my talent and interest in languages even more and decided to obtain a Master's degree in Translation (German-English) from the University of Bristol, UK.

Ever since I have been professionally involved in the field of translation and served many international clients. 

The fact that I am a German citizen who studied languages abroad and lives in a country fundamentally different from my origin contributes immensely to my ability to understand, "feel", and adjust to all kinds of target readerships which results in perfectly localised target texts. 

My experience comprises a vast variety of text types, including press releases, web sites, medical reports and literary texts.
