Took place in Kazimierza-Wielka, on 28 May (9 June) 1896, at 11 in the morning. We announce that in the presence of witnesses Mikhail Sado (homeowner from Słonowice, 40 y.o.) and Ignacy Galwas (homeowner from Wojciechow, 30 y.o.), on this day a religious wedding union was officiated between
Franciszek Sado, catholic, widower after the death of Wiktoria (born Stachurska, who died in Lenkowo of the Kościelec parish on 27 October (9 November) of last year), homeowner, resident of Lenkowo, born in Słonowice 27 y.o., son of Wikenty and Franciszka (born Marzec), and
Magdalena Wontek, catholic, maiden, peasant, born and living in Paśmiechy, 17 y.o., daugter of Barlomej Wontek (homeowner from Pasmiechy) and his wife Agnieszka (born Fofara).
This marriage was preceded by three announcements, published in the local parish as well as in the Kościelec parish on the 12th, 19th, and 26th of May (24th, 31st of May, 7th of June) of this year. The permission to wed from the personally present father of the bride was given verbally. The religious union of wedding was performed by the local parish administrator. This document, upon being read aloud to the illiterate announcers, was signed by us only.

Явились: Иванъ Оміотекъ тридцати лѣтъ и Антонъ Видзъ тридцати лѣтъ отъ роду, обои мѣшане ремеслѣники жительствующіе въ Посадѣ Гораѣ умеръ Францишекъ Грабовскій (Franciszek Grabowski), дитя, имѣющее отъ роду одну недѣлю, жительствующее при родителяхъ въ Посадѣ Гораѣ въ томъ же Посадѣ родившеесь, Сынъ Ваврентія и его жены Викторіи урожденной изъ Оміотковъ. - По наочномъ удостовѣреніи о кончинѣ Францишка Грабовскаго (Franciszka Grabowskiego) Актъ сей присутствующимъ прочитанъ, Нами только подписанъ.

Arrived Iwan Omiotek (30 y.o.) and Anton Widz (30 y.o.), both townspeople and artisans residing in Goraj Posad, and announced that today, at 5 in the morning, in Goraj Posad, died one Franciszek Grabowski, an infant 1 week of age, living with its parents in Goraj Posad and born in the very same Posad, son of Wawrentij and his wife Wiktorja (née Omiotek). Upon personal verification of the death of Franciszek Grabowski, this document was read aloud to those present and signed by us only.

I grew up with four native languages between two countries: Russian
and Ukrainian from Ukraine, English and French from Canada. As a result,
I'm fascinated by language. I did a Linguistics degree at uni and
worked in natural language processing, spending my free time moderating
and contributing to a volunteer translation forum.
The bulk of my experience is with Russian-language genealogy and old personal documents (I've gotten very good at reading very bad handwriting). I'll also gladly take on literary translation and audio/video transcription.
