For the past decades Golf has been a fast growing leisure activity in Scandinavia. Today, more than half a million Swedes are active golfers, which represents about 15% of all registered golfers in Europe. Sweden is in this way the second largest golf nation in Europe. An additional one million Swedes (out of a total population of 9 million) today occasionally play golf or are interested in becoming golfers. Sweden will therefore keep its position as one of the leading golf markets in the world.
The growing number of golfers has meant in turn that increasing numbers of Swedes pack their clubs when they go on vacation. As the Swedish golf season is relatively short, the interest and desire to go abroad to play golf has increased even further. According to conducted studies, 250,000 Swedish golfers travel abroad to play golf on average 1.5 times a year. This group spends the enormous sum of over USD 475 million (EUR 325 million) a year just to play golf abroad! If we add their domestic golf trips they spend over USD 630 million (approx. EUR 430 million) a year on their golf holidays!

En las últimas décadas el golf se ha convertido en una actividad recreativa de rápido crecimiento en Escandinavia. En la actualidad, más de medio millón de suecos son activos golfistas, lo que representa un 15 % del total de golfistas registrados en Europa. De este modo, Suecia es la segunda nación europea en cantidad de golfistas. Un adicional de un millón de suecos (de una población total de 9 millones) juega hoy en día al golf en forma ocasional o están interesados en aprender. Por lo tanto, Suecia mantendrá su posición como uno de los principales mercados de golf en el mundo.
