Mine is Trebuchet MS bold, in yellow and a 2-pixel black border. I use size 40, and maximum 32 chars x 2 lines.

Of course, not all translators deliver the finished, subtitled video; this question is aimed at those who do.

I often see films on TV with Arial Narrow. Do these people think that we'll be able to grasp more verbose text if our eyes don't have to shift so much?

This font and size works very well with WinCaps, but it doesn't work so well well with SPOT. I suppose the important is how it looks in the final product: DVD, TV... But it is true, sometimes you just cannot read them, or you risk going blind.

I agree with José Enrique, Arial narrow is too... narrow.
